Dental care under anesthesia

Safe and Pain-Free Dental Care for Those Who Wish to Sleep During Treatment

At Luxadent, we offer sedation dentistry for adult patients who wish to undergo their treatment in complete relaxation.
General anesthesia, also known as sedation, is a proven and safe option for those who have dental anxiety, strong gag reflexes, or simply want to sleep through the treatment.

Under anesthesia, you sleep deeply and are unaware of the treatment.
Our anesthetist (anesthesiologist) is always present and responsible for the entire procedure – from going to sleep to waking up – to ensure the highest level of safety.

What is Sedation Dentistry?

During sedation dentistry, you are put to sleep with the help of medication, so you do not experience discomfort or pain during treatment.
All types of dental procedures can be performed under anesthesia – from simple fillings to more extensive treatments like implants and surgery.
The results and quality are the same as with regular treatment, but you avoid stress and worry.

Who is Sedation Suitable For?

Treatment under anesthesia is particularly suitable for those who:

  • Have dental phobia or strong anxiety about treatment

  • Have a strong gag reflex

  • Need to undergo major dental treatments

  • Want a completely relaxed experience

The Treatment Process

  1. Preparation:
During your first visit, we conduct an examination while you are awake and take X-rays if needed.
You fill out a health questionnaire so that our anesthetist can assess if sedation is safe for you.
In some cases, you may be given sedative medication before your visit.

  2. During the Treatment:
The anesthetist administers the sedative, and you fall asleep calmly and securely.
The dentist and team then perform your treatment while you sleep deeply.

  3. After the Treatment:
You are gently awakened by the anesthetist.
After a short recovery, usually about 30 minutes, you can go home.

Possible Side Effects

Most patients recover quickly after anesthesia.
Some may feel light nausea or have a sore throat afterward, which is completely normal and resolves shortly.
If you experience pain after the procedure, you will receive appropriate pain relief on the spot.
