Restore Strength and Aesthetics with All-Ceramic Crowns
A dental crown is used to strengthen and restore a damaged or weakened tooth – for example, after significant decay, a root canal treatment, or a fracture.
At Luxadent, we work exclusively with all-ceramic crowns of the highest quality, made digitally to ensure a perfect fit and natural aesthetics.
Ceramic crowns are significantly stronger and more aesthetic than older metal-based variants (known as metal-ceramic crowns) and look almost identical to natural teeth.
When is a Dental Crown Used?
A dental crown is used when a tooth is weakened and needs reinforcement or when you want to improve the tooth's shape and appearance.
The treatment is often recommended:
After a root canal treatment to protect the tooth from fractures
In cases of large fillings or decay
For fractured or worn teeth
For esthetic improvements of shape or color
A properly performed dental crown can last for many years and provides both functionality and a natural smile.
Digital Precision and Aesthetics
At Luxadent, we use digital impressions, making the process both faster and more comfortable.
You avoid traditional impressions with messy material – something especially appreciated by patients with a strong gag reflex.
The digital impressions allow for millimeter precision and are sent directly to our local dental laboratory in Malmö.
Here, the crown is crafted with modern CAD/CAM technology in ceramic, perfectly matching your other teeth in both color and form.
SmileDesign: Try Your Smile Before It Becomes Permanent
When treating front teeth, we often use digital waxing (SmileDesign).
This means you can try the new design for a few days before the permanent crown is made.
This way, you and your dentist can together fine-tune the shape, color, and proportions to ensure you are completely satisfied with your new smile.
In some cases, when the damage is not too extensive, we can instead use porcelain veneers (shell veneers) as a more conservative alternative to a crown.
